No proprietary box, but you do need a supported adapter, such as the OBDLink MX+ on Android or a Bluetooth LE adapter like the OBDLink CX on iPhone. Many cheap ELM327 clones cannot read battery data. The coverage page lists the adapters for each model.
Yes. Pro and Business plans include your logo, license and contact details on the certificate.
A few minutes on most cars, depending on the battery management system. We will publish a measured figure once validation on real cars is done.
Not yet. Offline testing is planned for a later update. Today the app needs an internet connection to issue a certificate.
Here is what independent means: the score is calculated and signed by BattGrade's server from the raw data read from the car, nobody can type it in or change it, and the certificate shows who ran the test. BattGrade is not a public authority and not an accredited test lab.
Coverage depends on the make and model, and the list grows as we add car families. The coverage page lists every model the app can read today.
